I thought barney frank was the gang leader in the fannie and freddie mess, and our beloved President elect received the second highest payoff from fannie and freddie for his whole hand in the pie... let's face it, obama's fingerprints are all over it, so I don't know how anyone can legitimately blame Bush...

As someone else pointed out the market is forward looking.

BUT the market also responds to many different things, its not primarily a matter of who is president or who is president elect. Even with the degree that politicians interfere with the economy the sitting (or in this case next) president almost always gets too much credit or blame for what happens with the economy and with securities markets.
