>>If Stevens does get to stay in the Senate, I have to wonder how that will affect Palin. Will she still endorse all the projects that Stevens gets for Alaska after running against all the pork barrel spending?<<

As governor I expect she'll continue her current policy of trying to limit earmark spending.

>>Will there still be increased national exposure for Palin now that she is returning to Alaska and how will that play out?<<

That's up to her. It won't surprise me if she retires as governor in 2010, writes a book, and books some speaking engagements.

>>If Stevens doesn't get to take his seat...<<

If Stevens wins the election and then quits or is expelled, there will be a special election. The likely candidates are Mark Begich (D) and Dave Cuddy (R). Begich is the mayor of Anchorage and Stevens' opponent in the current race. Cuddy is an Alaska banker who ran against Stevens in the Republican primary. There is also some speculation that Palin might run herself.
