Her dress emphasized her mid section with a blazing red flame. The area that becomes large when a woman is with child.

Apparently the blogosphere was abuzz yesterday with comments about Mrs O's victory dress. I had no initial reaction either to Michelle's dress because I missed the celebration extravaganza on election night - Wed morning when the networks replayed the Obama's entrance, could not believe that dress. Mrs O's fashion sense had been excellent for the convention and other events - simple lines, lovely colors. Michelle probably ruminated at home with her children over the past year and wrongly ascribed her negative approval ratings to her wardrobe, therefore decided against her natural inclinations for Tues night.

In the greater scheme of things it's completely unimportant, but yesterday many websites commented on the fashion faux pas. Michelle will no doubt return to her original instincts for classic simplicity on the world stage, and thereby make all Americans proud. On the other hand, her husband's strategic policy instincts give many citizens pause - here's hoping he proves us to be utterly wrong for the greater good of the nation as a whole.
