For a little perspective Abraham Lincoln suspended the Writ.

encyclopedia.com

WE interred the Japanese in WWI, uder Franklin Roosevelt.

I think there is an understandable tendency to over react, in times of crisis. Whether it be war or economic.

I wonder how many people who profess to be concerned about the constitution will object when Obama begins to step on it to "save" the economy. To be clear, I think McCain would also have done this. When Obama does it the complaints will come from the Right, if McCain had won, they would have come from the left.

Its amazing to me how people's political views affect their thinking. Not a lot of dems protested when we went into Bosnia. To this day, I do not know what national interest we were protecting.

We need to start thinking like Amercans, not democrats and republicans.

Don't waste your time in trying to convince them. The fact that 22% of the masses still think that Bush has done and doing a great job is a proof enough for you about the state of twisted sense of reality in their mind. If they believe that there is no gravity, they cannot be convinced of the law of gravity either with Newton's laws or even by dropping them from the 50th floor of a building.

They will keep asking you for proof as if they are really open minded. Any proof you will produce will be dismissed as nonsense. If you continue to push it, you will be branded as an anti-American.
