Not sure I agree with this one? Smith was a well thought of moderate who came out early against the war. Steve, I caught your edit, but I'm going to comment on this original one. I'm focused much more on the filibuster issue than on individual senators. It's the issue that will determine whether much legislation can be passed. As it looks as the moment, I suspect the Maine senators are going to have inordinate influence on what finally gets through the senate.
