I think there were plenty of older Americans, maybe 60 and above, who let race affect their voting. Maybe chose to just not vote. But I suspect the Bradley thing of lying to pollsters and then voting the opposite wasn't much in play, if at all.

On balance, my sense is that Obama's race, actually mixed race ethnicity, was more of an asset than a liability.
