Not puzzling at all. Gas is being shut in all over the place. In the Rockies you can't even get $3/mcf for gas demand is so bad. And as the price keeps declining, more gas gets shut in, shifting the supply curve down with the demand curve.

So you see storage and it doesn't look much different than last year, but the big difference is that there is marginal supply that is ready to come back on line at every blip up in price, putting a lot of resistance in upward moves.
