Biden has the lowest net worth in the Senate, I believe, around $400k. That makes me suspect that he is an honest man.

Obama had the highest excitement ratings from supporters since JFK. Lots of joyful tears shed Tuesday night. The man is smart and has the temperament for the job. We are fortunate to have him at the helm now.

My wife called me at work today -- she was in the car, sitting and crying. I asked her what was wrong. She said it was the first time in fifteen years where she felt that the world had a leader capable of rising above the hate, the fear and cynicism that we take for granted as the business as usual way of the world -- both here and abroad. When I read your post it just reminded me of how strongly so many people feel about this.

Some people don't get it. They will continue to cling to hate, fear and cynicism. But for so many people now both here in the US and around the world there is something that is profoundly different about today as compared to the day before. It is not about money. It is not about the economy. It is about the essence of life, truth and intelligence crowding out hate, fear and cynicism. The reason so many people voted for Obama is that he gives them a voice where they had none before -- a what a wonderful voice it is.

Don Earl,

I usually don't participate in the political discussions. I just have never seen the point of it. My post to Mac was about Droke's crazy prediction that Bush would find some way to keep the big chair.

<the only reason he was elected is because slightly over half of the population hated him less than McCain. Biden will be running the show either way>

The first part of that statement is probably true for every election. The second part is absurd. Biden is not going to be calling the shots for BO.

It is interesting to me to hear all the extremes regarding the expectations of BO. I have two thoughts. First, he is something different that what we have had and what probably would have continued in some form had McCain won. Second, we get to see just how good OB can be, for his hand is an ace, a jack, and a 2,3, and joker. A good player can make something happen with poor cards and OB is coming into the game with a terrible hand.

It will be interesting.
