I can make an argument for saying that we should democratically elect our president when you look at the alternatives such as armed civil war or dictatorship. We can look at other governments of the past and of the present and see the benefits and problems with different forms of electing the president. We can even make an argument for having a President elected in a different way such as having no popular vote and only electing representatives to the electoral college.

What is your argument for saying that our current government is too big and too intrusive? Just saying 'it is obvious' or 'obviously' doesn't make it so.

You don't want 0% in taxes but not 100% in taxes so what is the right percentage? You don't want anarchy and you don't want dictatorship so what do you want?

My point is that you have opinions that are based on CW and nothing more. You haven't thought through these things so you can't support them.

"Based on percentage of bills, number of mandates or prohibitions, pages of regulation or just about any other way you measure regulation."

Maybe, I don't know. It's not so clear.

Is a regulation mandating the cleanliness of restaurant kitchens based on prevention of fraud? How about the requirement for carrying your insurance card when you drive?
Much of the function of the IRS is based on preventing fraud as is much of the nature of the SEC.
