Edited:<<I did not vote for McCain

I voted against Obama>> . Not acceptable to the parameters i have arbitarily set for this thread. That is what i call a word game, quibling.

<<you can not help the poor by destroying the rich>> The government policy for over more than 16 years has been an ever ramping up to make rich MUCH righer, and the the the test poorer.
In the year 2000 the median income was 50k, now 8 years later the median income (not corrected for inflation) is 50k.
ONLY 20% of the population has seen income growth all the rest income decline.
The upper 1% have had Insane Gains in their wealth.
The obscene wealth helps NO one, and destroys a society.

Factoid: Only one other time in history has the inequality of wealth been at these, and that was 1929, and in 2007 WE surpassed the the extreme imbalance in wealth that existed in 1929.
So welcome to the depression that could well face us ahead.

This was caused by a outrageous imbalance in the distribution of wealth and all the gross criminality that permitted that to happen.

<<You cannot strengthen the weak
by weakening the strong.>> This simply the thinking of social darwinism, a despicable theory and the foundation of Fascist Economic thought.
<<You cannot bring about prosperity
by discouraging thrift.>> That is true. But it does not overide your first two statements

<<You cannot lift the wage earner up
by pulling the wage payer down.>> Utter Rubbish and someone who is an idealog with information.
The traditional, fair spread between wage payer and wage earner is 8-1. We hit over 40-1.

Only in cases like Gates, that, that because of his original massive holding of stock in his company, trough the compnies growth, became incredibly rich.
In terms wage from MSFT to him, i doubt he even has a wage.
And he is doing what he said he would do, years ago, give at least 90% of wealth to good works.
The same, of course, the case with Buffet.
Gates and Buffet were opposed to GWB and McCain and their make the richer rich policies.

<<You cannot further the brotherhood of man
by inciting class hatred.>> The rich and powerful , in main, thru out history when they got in big trouble was via their abuse the other classes , if did they not they would not be hated.
The Sultan of Brunei, is not in trouble, he is a very down to earth amiable fellow with that pours my back into his country( the scoundrel was his brother, who embezzled The Sultan's money, for a time)

You have to give the royalty of Britain some credit, for overtime, they in pragmatism, yielded to the the other classes.

They early on realized it is all about land.

So the British had The Bloodless Revolution of 1688, where as the French Aristocracy would in major part be killed during the French Revolution, as they would not give an inch.

The Brit aristocracy and the public as had a strange, but succesful co-existence since 1688, as the aristocracy kept yielding to public demands.
Now we have the strange arrangement, where the GB Queen now exists by generosity of the public. She basically is on Welfare. Bit of comedy now, isn't, in Merry ole' England.

But i could never hat a Queen that would have the SexPistols as key performers at a her birthday party, with them singing their notorious "God Save The Queen"

<<You cannot build character and courage
by taking away people's initiative and independence. >> i fully agree. And i shocked my leftist friends many years ago, by saying "LBJ's" great society was destroying the poor, destroying their pride.

We need remember Malcolm X central message was we must NOT depend on the ruling whites, welfare enslaves us, humiliates us.
But on the other hand people can not be allowed to starve, so you need catch those that fall through the net.

<<You cannot help people permanently by doing for
them, what they could and should do for themselves>>A cliche sound bite, really is. i don't think anybody really disagrees with that--left or right.

O yes, you are BANNED. Max
