I do have one thing to say in his defense, tho. Well, not his defense. More like in his obituary; he was a Freedom Rider. Obama owes him a lot.

Joe is very charming and very slippery. My guess is that most of the Dem caucus no longer sees the charm and only sees the slippery. But I still think the final decision is likely to be a pragmatic one rather than the way the media presents it now.
