Actually ER made the news earlier this year when she wore the same dress a second time to a different event (I think - may have been a trouser suit, but whatever).

And if the Queen had stood for election to the Commons, and we were posting on a board pushing her to stand for Prime Minister, such details would be scrutinised.

But I'm quoting a major US newspaper, in answer to a query How about Sarah's side of this story?, because it has all I've seen of Sarah's side in this. And it will affect her chances of standing in 2012, like it or not, because the result of this kind of noise (trivial or not, justifiable or not) will affect her image and her ability to be elected. Or did you think her opponents won't bring it up?

Basic Rovian politics... throw enough mud and the other person gets dirty. Even if both sides are in the same party.
