France, the average physician makes the equivalent of $60,000/year. There are 200,000 physicians licensed to practice in France, and the number of medical students is and has been on the decline for years. It simply isn't worth becoming a doctor You do know that the number of doctors is controlled by a quota system in France; that demographics determine the parameters of that system and that it can fluctuate considerably from one decade to the next.
