I think next week will be a wild one before lift off...if it ever comes....>> Good Point, changes my perspective. In terms of will it ever come, even in worst sell off in DOW history--90% downs over a period about 32 months, there were a series of rapid fierce bear rallies that were NOT like the 2 one day wonders we have had in the past months(The two days now are the one and two greatest one day rallies in history of the U.S. Stock Market!) But i expect a normal bear market rally of 15-20%. If say the SPX only averaged +1% up over 15 trading days, you have a 15% rally. Note, i have noted that PM producer miners are moving strongly, and when the market has up days. i think they could be one of the outperformers in a bear rally. If i timed right i would and had enough cash in i would be happy as a clam at hightide if i could pull in 15-20% on an SPX rally of 10%. Several sources are pegging a bear market rally(and NOT a one day wonder) to 1100 on basis the HUGE BREAK down occured at 1137 area---their will be MASSIVE resistance there, MASSIVE. Just will go with a repeat, even the most savage bear markets have rallies moments of 15-20% rallies which they then recommence to puke. This again falls under "Hope Springs Eternal" But in view of how far NIKKEI has fallen, we can see thir "The Secular Bear is Over" was WRONG, they just had bull cycle within a secular Bear, so i now place the NIKKEI Bear Secular at 21 years! and we don't know it's end date. i see the same for us. We had a arificial Bull Cycle Rally because Greenspan building a MASSIVE housing bubble that used borrowing home equity as a means to re-inflate the market. The damage done has been catastrophic. i remain firmly in Marcus Faber's camp--we will EVENTUALLY have a total world wide collapse where physical will be the only asset not annihilated. This NOT given a date by Faber other than it is INEVITABLE. i advise all that think the Great Depression is a "Once Upon a Time" Fairy Tale. As Kondratieff has written the Great Depression would have lasted much longer in the U.S. if NOT for WWII(Due to the luck of geography, became mass scale producers). We are not producers anymore, and Ford and GM can only be maintained by making it a "Two big to fail" money pit. Our money printing capacity is all we have now. Incredible---i really do NOT think people grasp yet what has really happened NOR do i ever believe they will grasp it, because it is too scary to try, imo. The caveat is now, a WWIII, would be what Einstein said as i try to get the quote right--but if not, it will be the same meaning. "If we have a WWIII i guarantee the next war will be fought with sticks and stones". Max
