hmm the federal gov getting involved is social issues. They have to be for defensive reasons. Gay marriage is a wedge issue designed to give secular leftists, gay activists, cultural deconstructionists a club to persecute Christians and Christianity and impose non-religious values on children, churches and individual Christians. Examples: The SC of CA recently voted that a group of doctors should be required to perform fertility services to people (unmarried, lesbian) even if it violates their Christian moral values. The human rights commission of NM said that a photographer could not refuse to provide photographic services for a same sex marriage and slapped a fine of several thousand dollars on her. The state of MA says that the Catholic church can't refuse to arrange adoptions to same sex couples, causing the Catholic church to withdraw from providing adoption arrangement services in that state. Philadelphia expropriated a hall owned by Boy Scouts because they disapproved of the Boy Scouts refusal to accept a childless gay man as a scoutmaster. Liberal Democrat delegates to the 2000 Democratic convention booed and shouted hateful things to Boy Scouts attending the convention. A MA school read 7 year olds childrens books written to indoctrinate kids in approving same sex marriage (King and King - a book which depicts two men marrying and kissing). Similar indoctrination goes on elsewhere.
