< killing injured soldiers that couldn't be evacuated> I saw that portrayed in a movie Mrs. Coz and I watched recently. It was a foreign movie about a WWI veteran who had killed (in mercy) a comrade in arms who was injured gravely and soon to be drowned in a flooding trench. He carried this burden throughout the movie and ended up finding the sister and giving her a memento but spared her of the details of its coming into his possession. Very poignant.
