I have a confession. I think Obama has a great sense of humor.
His comment about Nancy Reagan and about his being a mutt were very funny. Of course, now that he's president, he will have to rein in his immediate reactions because humor always has a victim of sorts, even it's just oneself. Just not going to be allowed.
Too bad.

Obama called me personally to tell me to vote NO on 8 (well, ok, it was a recording...). So while Obama may personally believe marriage is between a man and a woman, he doesn't want to use the state to foist his ideas on everyone. That, imo, is the optimal decisions to make, if you have ideas about lifestyles that affect other people, whose choices about lifestyle have no affect on you save to offend your sensibilities, or those sensibilities you imagine your God to have.

It's my understanding that inheritance and visitation rights have been given. I believe many/most corporations are even allowing such couples family health benefits.

As for your argument that you don't want to give legal legitimacy to something you see as a sin, I can understand what you're saying

Thank you for understanding.
