McCain never stood for much but furthering himself. Was never wildly popular here in AZ... but managed to get himself elected.

That's an interesting notion, but I think you're right about that... not a single peep from him about all this bashing, this is odd... frankly, I don't know how he won the nomination in the first place, Romney was my prime choice, but we had to play the hand we were dealt...

Palin did wonders for the McCain campaign in terms of enthusiasm, fund raising, and I expect that the loss margin would have been greater without her on the ticket. Clearly McCain's team did little for her.

Let's face it, the road was all up hill for the GOP this cycle even without a "Chosen One" opponent. And you noticed that Mr. More Pie Than Sky started hedging on his promises even before election night was over......Ronald Reagan reincarnated would have had to wait until 2012.
