I suspect Wharf Rat and I are somewhat older than you. Believe me when I say, I'd LOVE for marijuana to be legalized. It's ridiculous that it's illegal. I'm all for it. I was probably smoking it before you were born, when in Texas, where I'm from, you could got to prison for twenty years just for possessing a small amount.

That said, I don't recall Obama making any such promises. Do you have a link showing where he did? Millions of voters didn't vote for Obama because he said he'd legalize dope.

I'm sure he knows that reefer is a better "relaxant" than alcohol or cocaine. I'm sure he personally knows people that smoke dope. I'm sure he believes that dope smokers shouldn't be punished.

You need to develop some perspective. For the vast majority of Americans, including those that smoke dope and those that think it's fairly harmless and should be legal, right NOW, there are other issues that are MUCH more important. Two wars to end, and broken economy to ATTEMPT to mend.

I also have diabetes. Smoking dope didn't help me. Diet and exercise do, a LOT. Getting off the ineffective pills and switching to insulin therapy helped too. Run that by your doctor.
