I think Palin IS smart. What Palin is, is ignorant and poorly educated.

Ted, > Palin fires back at leaks questioning her smarts

"Intelligent" people in the McCain campaign couldn't win a lead in the polls until they chose Palin.

"Intelligent" people in the McCain campaign couldn't come up with a real response to the financial crisis, preferring instead to play Obama's game of populism.

"Intelligent" people couldn't figure out how to draw crowds and otherwise steal Obama's thunder without Palin.

I know why you want to give McCain and his campaign people the benefit of the doubt, and it's because McCain is finished. No use calling him "McSame," no use pretending that he's just going to be another Bush. He's once again the "maverick moderate" you can trust in the Senate.
