I've been reading the back and forth on the construction of a new national electricity grid. Have you read anything in terms of how long this would take to accomplish and rough cost estimates....

Thanks,
John

OK elroy but the fact is that CA is the 6th largest economy in the world and assuming your 25% out of state is true (I know coal fuel is brought in from out of state but didn't know how much)- that still means 75% of the electricity needed to power the 6th largest economy in the world is non coal.

CA is a testament for the fact that clean energy mandates WORK, not that they don't work which almost seems like what you are trying to imply.

As far as subsidies, Natgas has become more expensive than ever imagined when those alt e fuel subsidies were initially devised. I know its going to crash back to earth now, but natgas prices like we have had these past 2 years are enough to make solar worthwhile for almost everybody. Last winter our household had $450 utility bills and this winter would have been higher if not for this energy crash. Solar is competitive with that, sheesh what isn't?
