the thing is Elroy, even that article states that the TRUE COST of oil, to the USA, are unknown.

We just fought a two trillion dollar war for oil. Oh wait, it was about terrorism. Whatever. Thats what clean energy proponents know, that our reliance on foreign oil makes us beholden to this Islamic state.... AND..... Its not any CHEAPER! Not really, when you add up all the costs, including these BS wars.

The only easy way to get off foreign oil is to go plug in hybrid or electric auto. That requires more electricity and a new grid. If you want to argue that coal, something the US has plenty of, is a better solution for this electricity grid for electric vehicles, I won't argue that much other than that coal is a really dirty industry. My primary concern is to get off foreign oil which siphons off 2 billion per day from the US econoomy... just out the door.

And the fact is that most of the proponents of the oil state have something to lose by switching to electric. Oil companies or red states, what have you. The true cost of that gallon of foreign oil in your tank is probably about $10.
