Yes, it is true that neither has lasted. The value of gold has maintained its value, the reason the gold system does not last is the desire of politicians to control us. Fiat systems fail because the currency becomes worthless.

Sure governments will eventually find a way to overspend and destroy any gold standard that is created, but having a gold standard with gold and silver coins in circulation gives people a fighting chance to survive the government BS.

On the flip side, take all the gold and silver out of the system and "de-educate" the people and the people don't have a hope in hell when government abuses the money system.
