There's a list floating around somewhere of the worst choices you can make, like having children before you're married and established or quitting school.

We often get breakdowns on poverty by race but I have often wondered about the breakdowns by behavior.

In particular, what would the rate be for those who manage to do the following.

1) Graduate from high school.

2) Dont get married until 25.

3) Dont have kids until 30.

4) Stay out of jail and off drugs.

JMO, but a behavioral breakdown would provide far more insight into poverty than the ubiquitous racial breakdowns that we see.

There's a list floating around somewhere of the worst choices you can make, like having children before you're married and established or quitting school. We can make a big dent in poverty if we quit making excuses or blaming some bogeyman or worry about hurting some cultural feelings and be straightforward about behavior.

But aren't you presuming to know what's best for other people?
Everyone has rights and should be allowed to make their own mistakes, and you don't have the right to force people to behave the way you think they should, do you? We should all be vigilant against an authoritarian society that dictates how we act. Personally, I will always fight to preserve man's right to screw up his own life, even if it impacts his children and his community. And it's a slippery slope, so we can't start by permitting criticism or the hurting of cultural feelings.

Always remember the long hard fight to remove prayer from the schools! We got rid of that insidious daily challenge to people to strive for improvement and build character, so how can we now take away their excuses for failure or deny them their bogeyman? Stay vigilant, unite, and preserve our freedoms!!!!!!

Just kidding! I agree with your sentiments completely. :)
