What about him?

(He didn't come ANYWHERE near to winning his Party's nomination, now did he?)

And, to the extent that he made a positive contribution to the composition of the ticket, I'd argue that the contribution was somewhat narrow and modest, and in these areas mostly:

1) His age helped a bit to counter-balance Obama's relative youth. Same with his many years inside Washington.

2) His supposed 'blue collar appeal' (to whatever extent it contributed) was probably aimed at helping to counter-act an Obama political weakness that Hillary's campaign pointed out.

3) His polling 'negatives' were not especially high (unlike, say, Hillary's <g>) and so he probably did not lose more votes than he added.
