Ahem, The Picks Game resurrects itself from the grave! Ok, I'm up and running with both DSL and Bloomberg access from my house in a remote province of the Philippines. There's no nightlife here, no restaurants, no English speakers to play poker with, so we're gonna have ourselves another picks game. In other words, I got nuthin else to do! Check the header for a few rule adjustments, Taro will get them in there as soon as he has a chance. The main change is that you only get to trade one day per month, but you can do as many trades on that day as you choose, and that day HAS TO BE a Friday. So you get your order in before Friday's close, and you get Friday's closing price for your buy/sell whatever. We all start with the normal $100. You can still have one short position, and you can hold cash. Sells (or short covers) pay 1% commission, buys or short trades are commission free. If your order violate some rule in any way, it is void. Tentative start date is going to be Friday, December 5th. Once I fire up the Bloomberg access it only lasts for 5 months. However, there is a way to stretch it into 6 months, so the tentative end date will be Friday, March 20th, and we'll see if we can finagle in a second FINAL GAME in the remaining time after that. If you want to play, don't wait until December 5th to say so. Just post that you want to play on this board now, and you will have $100 in your account on December 5th. You can pick your stocks whenever you get around to it. Indicating your participation early will help me set up the initial spreadsheet, which might be a bit of a task since I appear to have deleted the previous one.
