That IMO was one of the stupidest things we ever did. IF, and it is a big IF, I were to give someone a shoulder fired missile, I would say here's your missile, you can launch it anytime THIS WEEK in THIS AREA. If you are out of range of the Afghan AM radio station in downtown Kabul it won't fire. If you don't fire it this week, come back to me next week for a new launch code. Duh.

Apparently - when we sold F-14s to the Shah, the day the Shah fell the planes went dead, never to fly again. Bravo. That's how it is done. I do have to ask why we gave F-14s to the Shah, but that is a different question, isn't it?
