That blue laws may have some advantageous secular side effects does not take the "blue" out of them.

OK, then I propose that IF something like the old Sunday blue laws got reinstated, we make sure to call them something different, so that any whiff of morality doesn't creep back into the national psyche.

Maybe call them green laws. Going green is the rage now. The business closings will reduce energy usage, as I described, and instead of working, people can plant trees for the environment. And since the word Sunday connotes the attending of church services, why not just change the name of the day, too. It can be Greenday!
