yes.

not forever.

US fighting default signaled major trouble for credit downgrade and higher interest payments.

loss of credit status = transfer of power

default or maybe eventual decoupling of 'paper'markets from physical and no way to enforce payment via US dollar fiat could transfer power to China. that's a scenario.

still i see China as the #1 player in the future, with us by her side as the instrument of that transfer. we went into Iraq to secure China's oil. we were the country that could politically and militarily lead that charge. once Iraq is subdued with government military, our companies will secure the contracts that our government in coalition with Iraqis will then sell to China.

China gets oil, we preserve cultural and retain some political status while daddy Warbucks <China> has all the gold.
