Thanks for the reminder. Four of those Great Lakes sailors were from the Washburn/Ashland area and another from Iron River. It was a terrible day in those small towns.

Thanks Oral, I've always loved that song and the story it told. When he says the crew was well seasoned he wasn't kidding. There was only a couple of youngsters @21 all the rest were in their 40s and 50s......a few even in their 60s.
