BTW do you really think the Dems are going to reverse the creeping regulation of private life that comprises the "nanny state"? I think if you want to retain the right to prescribe drugs for yourself, you have to give up some of your rights to sue the company who makes the drugs as well as the doctor who prescribes them. Unfortunately people in the US seem to want both of those options.

My thoughts on prescription drugs used to "manage" conditions is that you have to resist them as long as humanly possible. If you ever had to help manage drugs for an elderly person you'd find it is very rare for anyone to go out without being massively over prescribed with every imaginable drug, so much so, that elderly people need considerable help keeping their drugs and doses straight.
