This election of Obama has been so good for the country. Even more than I expected. Making us more tolerant, bringing all peopels together and mending so many broken fences.

But there is also hate. A good plumber friend of mine today recounted two experiences over the weekend that shocked him:

1) He is a moderate smart, decent and honest Catholic. He said at church over the weekend the priest had the kids holding hands and an 11 year old girl said:

1) I can't even type it (I tried), but it was that something bad would happen to him. 11 years old. He was sure she picked it up at home.

2) One of his close friends, whom he would not name, but I know who he, and is a hard core evangelical, not only used the N word, but said he hoped the congress would block everything he did.

My friend said he told him: "what is wrong with you, we are in big trouble and need to get the countries problems solved.

I have known the guy forever and have been surprised at how strongly he supports Obama and is even standing up to the bigots.

So while I was saddened by the described events, I was happy to see maderates like him take such a strong stand supporting obama.

This has truely been a defining moment in history.
