What do you suggest i.node? How would the republicans address pensions and health care for our seniors? The "every man for himself.

It is my belief that these problems cannot be solved at this point.

It is the problem with the Great Society, New Deal, and most other social programs. By the time the insolvency is understood, they are so deeply rooted in the political process they are no longer subject to being excised.

Bush made a valiant effort to try to save SS, and he failed, overrun by the Socialists. That was the end of it.

Eventually, the programs just fail and the then-beneficiaries will just have to deal with it. I'm doing my best to prepare my kids for this because it definitely will happen during their lifetimes.
