If the churches all change their positions on homosexuality there would be a lot of people who would return ... Disenfranchised people do not often support a theocracy that continually blames them and instills guilt for something over which they have no control. The Catholic Church probably would glean a lot more returning members but in the interim they find churches such as Unity, Metaphysical,United Church of Christ,Centers for Spiritual Living or Awareness. Center for Positive Living. Buddhism, etc. Alternative churches... I think this issue has to become paramount in church dogma and I would hope that the issue would be resolved to be more inclusive..
