As a Christian, why aren't you leaving judgment to God.
I am. Being non-judgmental doesn't mean pretending sin doesn't exist and everything is okay. Jesus told the woman caught in adultery to go and sin no more, not if it feels good, do it.

Who are you or your Church or your Clergy or anyone else to tell someone in this country that they do not have the same rights as anyone else?

Marriage isn't a matter of rights.

"my fundamentalist Christian parents cared for him right up until his death"

You are sure that he was gay?

Pretty sure.

Were your parents?

My Mom, yeah. Dad, I don't know.

Did they try to fix him while they were caring for him?
I think they counseled him to seek forgivenesss for his sins through Jesus, to pray, and trust in God. Probably nothing more specific than that.

If you want to 'defend' marriage then outlaw divorce.

I'll take that under advisement. I would make it harder to divorce when a couple have children if I could.

Make all 'unions' between adults civil unions and make it open to all pairs of sane adults. Keep marriage in your church and keep your church out of government.

Which are you advocating? Only civil unions? Or only religious unions? Your thinking on the subject appears pretty shallow. Advocating massive changes in an important social institution on such shallow analysis and thought ... very unwise.

It's a two-way street. Why is everyone in this country required to take off Christmas? Why is everything closed for a religious holiday and everyone inconvenienced even when they are not Christians?

I am sure the fact we have religious based holidays offends you. And that you'd like to outlaw them.

If you are a Hindu, you do not work at Steaks R Us. If you want to work at Steaks R Us, you cannot expect to serve the salad and then go on strike over the main course. It's silly.

Of course. But a vegetarian Hindu shouldn't be told he can't open a restaurant ..... as you wish to exclude observang religious folks from the medical field.

If you are an anti-free choice doctor, go and be a neurologist or specialize in geriatrics. Don't got into OBGYN with the purpose of harassing women.

I don't think Ron Paul harasses women. I know Bill Frist delivers babies and I don't think he harasses women either. Why would you make baseless charges like this.

You aren't paying attention to your own link.

I know. I reject the analysis. Religious people shouldn't be forced to violate their religious faith. There's an amendment specifically protecting the free exercise of religion.

The practice could either: 1. not perform this particular service period. 2. offer their services to a limited population, say, people that go only to a handful of churches that think as they do. I think that would hold up but I'm not sure.

Why not just offer the service to any married woman, which is what they did.

As I said, there are certain societal interests in NOT DISCRIMINATING JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT TO. Find a better religion.

You don't have the legal or moral right to force others to change their religion. Thats the issue here. Thank you for clarifying it by revealing the true goal of liberalism here.

There's no reason religious people have to accept homosexuality as moral and facilitate it anymore than they do adultery, bestiality, child abuse, etc.

Christian Scientists don't believe in much else than prayer. Why should they have to live in a neighborhood where their neighbors are taking Viagra and Xanax? Why should they have to go to a drug store where there are people taking all kinds of drugs? Should they have to pay taxes to support hospital services? I imagine they have some objections to these things.

As far as I know, they don't.

So you have a religious objection to the federal government legalizing abortion but you have no religious objections to states legislating on this subject?

I have a political problem with judges doing what legislators should do.

Anti choice people can be ear, nose and throat specialists or cardiologists. Stay away from women if you cannot treat them appropriately. Stop harassing women.

Prolife folks like Ron Paul and Bill Frist don't harass women. And shouldn't be barred from practiciing obstetrics (Ron Paul) or delivering babies (Frist).

If someone is an anti-choice obstetrician and that someone refuses to perform a medically appropriate procedure that results in harm to a patient then that obstetrician will be subject to law suits, disciplinary action, loss of license...or not.

Ron Paul is such a person and I don't think he's had any problems. I think women who want abortions simply don't go to him. I don't think he should be forced out of the profession as you do.

Churches do not have to hire atheists

I agree. Or active homosexuals either. Or abortionists.

and hospitals and practices can kick out anti-choice doctors

Would be best not to hire them. But yes, they should have the right to hire people who will perform abortions if thats their business.

Bill Frist lied about adopting cats from humane societies in order to practice medical procedures on them. I want that man to stay the heck away from people. If this is your example of a Christian doctor then find a different religion.

As a medical student, he was required to dissect the remains of cats in a lab project. When he couldn't get a supply of cats, he "adopted" some from an animal shelter, euthanized them and then finished the project. Sorry, but this is not a big deal.

I recall a biology professor killing white rats in class for a similar purpose.

All doctors do dissections and some of them euthanize the animals being dissected. Someone has to, unless they're gonna rely on roadkills.

Change is coming!!!! LOL!!

Fellow Business Executives:

As the CFO of this business that employees 140 people, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barrack Obama will be our next President, and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way.

To compensate for these increases, I figure that the Clients will have to see an increase in our fees to them of about 8% but since we cannot increase our fees right now due to the dismal state of our economy, we will have to lay off six of our employees instead. This has really been eating at me for a while, as we believe we are family here and I didn't know how to choose who will have to go.

So, this is what I did. I strolled thru our parking lot and found 8 Obama bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will be the first to be laid off. I can't think of a more fair way to approach this problem. These folks wanted change; I gave it to them.

If you have a better idea, let me know.

Sincerely,

Carrie Trowbridge Law
