(i) China ended up with 1.9 tril reserves by working diligently, saving religiously, and investing wisely, mostly, and doing so serving wastrels living beyond capabilities and capacities. China did not print the dollars it calls reserve; some other nation did. (ii) the reserve had in recent past grown faster than trade surplus, and so the rest needed to be put down as 'hot money' that will surely be blocked as shady. <<I call that CRIMINAL, corrupt, exploitive, and just plain stupid (where can these managers hide?)>> Listen, and do so carefully, for there will be a test eventually. The bosses lost a goodly chunk of their nav, that is free market justice. The workers lost a sliver of their pay and stops working for the boss; that too is justice. Free market justice. Then you'll see who is more sovereign>> ... in hkg we have economic freedom of the highest order, in all of the galaxy and possibly the universe, and we have rights, simply written and strongly maintained, and we still have much assets, crisis or no crisis, and are wealthiest in the milky way by net worth. we will be able to keep our gold, because we are guided by a genuinely in-force constitution. tj
