if you make the strawman argument, or the strawman inference, that someone, somewhere, doesn't realize they can be mistaken.

I'm quite confident that there's someone, somewhere. Maybe not people who literally believe they cannot be mistaken, but who will generally defer to intellectuals, the experts or elite in any given arena, just as there are people who generally disbelieve intellectuals and generally trust the average joe. Personally, I think one has considerably better odds going with the elite, but they often steer us seriously wrong.
