First of all, Social Security was never meant to be a primary source of income for retirees, but that's the way it's being considered these days. Never said it was...and it isn't. The small payments SS makes are not enough to live on by any stretch... Lastly, I'm really against "cradle-to-grave" government policies that takes power away from the productive generations and hands it to the needy. Let people plan for their own retirement. S--t happens, and government should provide a safety net, but too many people are comfortable resting on that net, and it's about to break. You are indeed a proud republican... Al
