You mean to tell me there are people susceptible to hubris Among other things. Another potential problem with elite groups is enforced conformity, which undermines the skepticism inherent to intellectuals and turns them into just another groupthink club. It's the antithesis of intellectualism. That's every bit as anti-intellectual as the the know-nothing right and even more exasperating because intellectuals should know better. And, of course there's the politicization, the whoring, and the cultishness. Intellectuals are human, too, after all.
