The aim is to get free access to Australia, not to actually solve a problem of sea level rise. But you are right, auction a whole bunch of islands as independent countries. Alaska, Louisiana - sale of countries is a traditional thing to do. Maori tribes sold large chunks of New Zealand. You would call their bluff by suggesting that. But you are spoiling my plan to get the whole place at a bargain price in exchange for a chunk of Oz. As with most environmental woes, the concern they express is just cover to get hold of power and OPM. Mqurice
