What law am I trying to pass? You're trying to change the marraige laws and you want the courts to do it for you since the public support isn't there.

Stop judging people. Leave that to God.

I've explained that not judging people doesn't mean being blind to right and wrong. Could I tell you that you should stop judging pedophilia?

Again, if you want to defend marriage, try and outlaw divorce.

Why? Wouldn't that also be forcing something on someone from your standpoint?

So, if none of you were sure he was gay then what is the hubbub about?

I was sure. So was Mom. Don't know about Dad. There wasn't any hubbub.

If he was, acceptance for who he was is a big part of caring for him. No one should be made to feel 'unacceptable' for who they are...that is a recipe for absolute misery in life.

And if he'd been a drunk, caring for him wouldn't have meant accepting his alcoholism as part of who he was?

If that is what your religion preaches then find another.

Now you're ordering me to change my religion. Great way to show your side is about tolerance and letting people alone.

No, marriage is a LEGAL CONTRACT. It brings with it certain obligations like being responsible for each other's debt

Irrelevant to the issue.

and certain rights such as visitation in hospitals.

Huh? Why do you people always write as if no one but spouses are allowed in hospitals. Anyone can visit anyone. Haven't you ever visited anyone in a hospital before?

That should be the limit of government's involvement in marriage. It should define a legal contract between two sane adults period.

There ya go, being hateful toward the insane and polygamous and group marriage folks. Why do you hate them? You probably used to bomb black churches. To use your style of "argument".

"Of course. But a vegetarian Hindu shouldn't be told he can't open a restaurant ..... as you wish to exclude observang religious folks from the medical field."

Now you are just being a liar.

What did I lie about? You want no doctors who refuse to perform abortions, sex change ops, fertilization of single women, etc., don't you?

I will repeat, no one is telling anyone they can't open a restaurant or be a doctor. The vegetarian won't be opening up a steak restaurant because that would offend his beliefs and the doctor should be in a field that doesn't offend his beliefs as well. The Hindu can't open a steak restaurant and then be shocked when he is asked by his customers for the porter house with all the fixins. Ditto the doctor who goes into a medical specialty and is shocked (shocked I tell you) when his customers ask for legal services.

Abortions, sex change ops, fertilization of single women are not medical specialties. These services can be performed by many different sorts of doctors.

Bill Frist = CARDIOLOGIST
Ron Paul = LIBERTARIAN

Frist may be a cardiologist, but he does deliver babies. Any surgeon qualified to work on hearts, could do abortions easily enough, and much else. As a cardiologist, he isn't barred from doing other things.

Ron Paul happens to be an obstetrician and gynecologist. And he happens to be one who doesn't do abortions. He's a person you want to exclude from the medical profession.

If he harasses pregnant women who want to have abortions
Saying he won't perform an abortion isn't harassment.

If someone wants to sue him for failure to provide adequate medical services then they should.

My point is proven. You should stop accusing me of lying when I accurately describe your views.

You provide a link and then claim that it said one thing and then now you claim you disagree with the article you linked to?

The link proved the case happened as I said. Posting does not mean I approve of the decision.

Churches are tax exempt organizations. I don't know how far their legal requirements against discrimination go. I don't suppose a church can have a 'no whites allowed' policy or a 'no men allowed' policy but I don't know. Can you legally have a black women only church with tax exempt status?

I have no idea. Perhaps you should email Jeremiah Wright and ask him some of these questions.

Bill Frist lied about acquiring the cats from a shelter. He is a schmuck.

No, he told the truth about that. He did lie to the shelter. You're entitled to your opinion. Frist is nevertheless a doctor and there's no reason he shouldn't be.
