I believe you have confused the Cadillac Escalade for a main battle tank. I don't fault you for this is common misconception. The big difference is that the Escalade comes in 13 colors and the Abrams tank only in one. Both can be gunned while running, but only the Escalade stalls otherwise.

The Abrams tank was designed by Chrysler Defense and that division is now part of General Dynamics, so GM is not a player here.

Of course you will counter what is a Hummer if not a tank.
My wife says it is a POS for little boys who want to feel big and have no other way to express themselves.

Re: "GM is a matter of nation security, we depend on them to build our military tanks and heavy machinery..."

So put them into Conservatorship, wipe out the remaining (small) value of the stock --- it's practically gone already, the entire market cap of GM is only around $6 Billion or so (& it's over-priced at that price), and then extinguish maybe half of the GM debt by converting it into equity in the new post-bankruptcy GM.

Problem solved.

Just don't pour any more public money down the rat hole, 'cause it WILL NOT WORK... GM can only be saved by reducing it's debt load.
