I haven't seen much in the press about the end of the energy crises other than SUV are selling again.

New supply will be tough to bring on at these prices and even depletion rates from older fields will increase as maintainance gets postponed.

We need to watch what IEA reports on global inventories over the nest few months.

BTW - had family here all week and spent a few days fishing. The big boys are running their triple Yamaha's again....amazing to see watch a 1000 horses pushing a fishing boat.

>>> that big fat chicken is going to come home to roost down the road in the form of a bulge of years where no significant new supplies come on-stream for want of not having spent the money to do the upstream work back in 2009, 2010, 2011<<<

Oh my yes. Come to papa. I can wait. Getting a little tired of saying that, but I can wait.

Slightly OT: As a person who didn't overleverage himself on housing back in '01-'06, I really have my knickers in a bunch about the FHA/Fannie/Freddie/FDIC bailout. The price of that will be paid in inflation (got hard assets....like crude) and the misallocation of resources (5k square foot houses and granite countertops instead of drilling rigs). This will be beaucoup ugly in another few years.
