I have a friend who runs a wind power consulting company. They have a video of a falcon (or some kind of raptor) holding steady in the in lee side of a big turbine. Don't know if you've ever seen birds of prey do this but they kind of flap/kind of hover facing into the wind and eyeball the terrain below them.

In this video, the bird sees something move on the ground and dives through the spinning blades for the kill. The modern turbine blades are HUGE and move slowly enough for birds to get out of the way.
