LOL...funny. If the real estate market had not tumbled as it did, and banks were profiting from all the lending they did, you'd be the first boldly taking credit for bush's visionary leadership.

I have always maintained on this very thread that presidents generally are not to blame and should not be credited with anything that happens from an economic perspective. They are political figureheads only.

There are a couple of notable exceptions --

a) Reagan clearly turned the economy around with tax cuts that were his own initiative; and

b) Clinton clearly destroyed the economy when running for office in '92 as he talked down the economy. A mild recession was turned into something a bit more protracted as a result.

I'm sure there are other instances, but the president's influence on the economy is highly limited.
