If your preferences were pervasive, GM (and Chrysler) would be doing well and we would not be talking about billions to bail it out. What's your point? You are not representative of prevailing preferences.

I did not say anything about preference, I was talking about the actual quality of the automobile. Not all Japanese car's have the quality you or the public think or they wouldn't have so many of their engines blow up, Ford started putting some Ford engines in some of the models when they took over. Many Chrysler models are as good as Toyota's, the Caravan's for example were and still are very reliable. That doesn't mean that people don't buy other models for other reasons, and it doesn't mean Chrysler can't come back. Well maybe they can't come back under Obama, but their brand isn't ruined either.
