Don't understand this automaker bailout program at all. The economy is bad and people pulled in their car purchases 2-3 years ago when they were giving everyone an employee discount. Now the consumer is broke and already has more cars than they can fill with gas, so by bailing out these automakers they will keep producing same stuff that they are already not able to sell to what end? don't quite see the end game here to justify the bailout rationale. This seems like another one chalked out to hope an prayer that everything will sort out by itself even though we may not clearly see it now, so flood it with taxpayer's money. Lot of what the govt is proposing implementing to solve economic problems is comical and could make me laugh if my a$$ were not at stake here from being affected by these solutions. :-(
