In western civilization you probably have to go back before there was a concept of pornography as such before you would get significant percentages calling it decent, if you ever would across the whole of western civilization. "material (as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement" Not a very good definition. Not that I'm sure I could provide a better one. I would say that that definition would be a minimum requirement to be considered porn, but just meeting that requirement isn't enough.
