Medicare is in serious trouble, but can be fixed with a national health care system. SS has some upcoming problems that can be easily addressed by removing the FICA cap and/or means testing.

Both Medicare and SS are politically impossible to repair at this point IMO, and will ultimately bring our nation to its knees. It is liberalism run amok, and it cannot be fixed at this point unless liberals just wake up and say, "We've f*cked this up so badly, we need to let someone else straighten it out" -- and I really don't see that happening.

We have a solution. Cut back on defense spending.
