Hi Sam

"Which means that the Sept 98 quarter would have about $510 million revenue, the Dec98 quarter maybe $580-600m?, not $700m, but still not too shabby."

Reflecting on the occurances of the past year and the revelations of the past couple of weeks in particular, I conclude that QNTM has decoupled itself from its DD competitors, and will in future no longer catch pneumonia when SEG or whoever sneezes. The reasons are obviously excellent management and DLT (in that order). In your last mail you were addressing the question of the coming 18 months and some of your doubts, and Tech correctly pointed out how very far QNTM has come in the past 12. I could well imagine that the DD biz will play an ever decreasing roll in MB's plans, and maybe in 3 years sell off 51% as he wisely did with the head biz.
Remember next year we will be looking at Terastore products, and who knows what they may bring!
Maybe this time next year the inventory level of high end DD's won't even be worth the mention.....

Regards
Alan
